This table is the woman described by the Portuguese poets and singers. A woman in flip-flops, crying out sardines, with her wheel ready on the head, carrying the basket. Such were “VARINAS” at the beginning of the 20th century. Simple and hardworking people, who left the lands of Var – today known as Ovar, a city in Portugal -, and went by train to the riverside of Porto or the neighborhoods of Lisbon to sell fish.
The wheel presented on the VARINA table supports the cork top – a natural and recyclable material -, and represents the artifact that facilitates the transport of the basket on the head. Handmade with felt waste from the Portuguese hat making industry, the wheel is a small circular pillow made of twisted fabric with ribbons intertwined in a pattern.

Few cork granules may be released as time goes by due to the natural characteristics of the cork. The product is handmade so final dimensions may vary slightly. All these changes and variations are not considered defects.
Clean and maintenance: Use a dry, soft cotton cloth or a vacuum cleaner to clean your piece. Do not use detergent or any cleaning product, only water. Avoid the constant direct sunlight, because it can darken the cork. Avoid contact with acid liquids, because it could create stains. Find more HERE
Warranty: All DAM products are guaranteed for a period of 3 years. It includes problems concerned with the production or material faults. During this time we will repair or replace the products. The warranty excludes all damages caused by improper usage, negligence or natural wearing out of the product.
Yes! Our cork is 100% natural, recyclable, reusable and renewable. This is why it is regarded as a raw material of excellence with favorable consequences for natural resources and for Planet Earth. The material is dust and stain-repellent, anti-bacterial, washable and waterproof – which makes it wonderful for this round end table.

We believe that authentic materials create furniture that lasts, so we spend a long time designing, drawing and producing our furniture. To give your new round end table the best conditions for a long and beautiful life, keep your cork small table away from direct sunlight. The discoloration will happen over time if left in the sun. Use a dry, soft cotton cloth to clean your piece or a vacuum cleaner. Do not use detergent or any cleaning product, only water.
